Conservation Carbon
A triply integrated effort towards a sustainable future
Carbon capture and storage
Conservation Carbon Company packages and markets value-added carbon credits from Analog Forestry and forest-garden projects in developing countries. The carbon-capture and storage properties of Analog Forest projects compare favourably with those of monoculture plantations. One acre (0.4ha) of Analog Forest typically sequesters 200 tons (00.0tn) of carbon.
Analog Forestry’s also follows a sequential harvest plan to ensure that too large a part of the plantation is not harvested at once. In commercial monoculture plantations, whole plantings are felled in a single harvest, releasing all the captured carbon back into the atmosphere.
Conservation of biodiversity
Unlike monoculture projects in which trees are considered purely as carbon sinks, Analog Forestry goes further to conserves biodiversity by restoring ecosystems to reach a fully-functioning forest ecology, supporting a wide variety of plant and animal species. Unlike a monoculture plantation, an Analog Forest is vibrant with the shapes, colours and
sounds of life.
Community development
Traditional knowledge and academic expertise combine in Analog Forestry to the benefit of local communities. While the proceeds from the sale of carbon credits bring in much-needed cash, the forest itself yields food, medicine and other products that local residents can use themselves or take to market.
