Monitoring & validation

Carbon stocks already present as biomass in the plantation area (known as baseload carbon) are evaluated by an accredited third-party certifier. Currently, this function is performed by Forest Garden Product Inspection & Certification, the first accredited certification company under the International Analog Forestry Network. More information about FGP-IC is available at
www.forestgardencertification.com.

Monitoring and incremental evaluation of plantation carbon stocks is performed by our staff in collaboration with Rainforest Rescue International. Maintaining a staff presence on the ground helps CCC ensure accurate reporting. We monitor plant viability on community plantations quarterly for the first three years. During this time, we also offer agricultural advice and other support to community members.

After the initial three-year intensive period, monitoring continues twice yearly for the remaining period of investment. Annual progress reports are issued to clients based on the monitors’ findings.
